LA TORRE DELL'UCCELLINO (Uccellino's Tower), that can be seen in the video sequences, was built in 1242 a.C. Its history, so interesting and emotional, made Giulio Barbieri decide to publish, together with the socio-cultural association Poggese, a book that will contain all the recovered historical documents.  It is under developing stage a beneficent foundation that will contribute not only in restoring the Tower but also in rendering its original glamour, while, at the basis of the Tower, there will be a special space, dedicated to all the people or beneficent association wanting to collect funds for humanitarian purposes.

The company Giulio Barbieri S.p.A has recently bought LA TORRE DELL'UCCELLINO. This was the wish of the president Giulio Barbieri who has dedicated the tower to his wife Gianna, who passed away the 10th of August 2007, in the night of Saint Lawrence.

From that day, for the first time in its history, the Tower was lighted in the inside, creating a particularly suggestive atmosphere: in fact, during the night, from the cracks and its small windows, rays of light are coming out breaking the night stimulating the curiosity, the attention and the fantasy of who happens to pass by on the road which connects Ferrara to Poggio Renatico.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Gianna would recognize lots of aspects and characteristics that make her similar to the Tower:  firstly it was verified that one of the toponyms from which the name Uccellino comes from is "Ogianello", the first indication that seems to be a sign of the fate: the two names are very similar.
The second analogy would be Gianna's character: strong, careful, protective, a safe support for all those who needed help and protection , all these offered with silence and discretion.
The Tower keeps on rising proudly, despite the evident signs of the time and the cracks left by almost a millennium which passed. Gianna, as well as the Tower found themselves in front of an age unable to prevent these cracks and that has not learned yet , despite the reality of facts, to prevent what one day will be too late to cure.
